We had the pleasure of interviewing Robert Randolph over Zoom video!

Robert Randolph is a four-time Grammy nominated pedal steel guitarist and one of Rolling Stone’s “100 greatest guitarists of all time.” A virtuoso on the pedal steel, Robert jumped from spiritual to secular music and found an audience among blues fans, roots rock aficionados, and jam band followers with his fiery, passionate instrumentals and heartfelt music, earning fans like John Medeski, Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews and T-Bone Burnett.

Robert is also the founder of the Robert Randolph Foundation, a skill development platform for youth from all walks of life to gain knowledge that can transform their lives regardless of their cultural, social, or racial backgrounds. As a man with a long history of community involvement, Robert has remained passionately committed to programs and initiatives focused on family support and development.

This passion inspired him to create this foundation as a skill development platform for youth from all walks of life to gain knowledge that can transform their lives regardless of their cultural, social, or racial backgrounds. Through the power of community, education, music, and arts, the Robert Randolph Foundation is creating better possibilities for brighter futures. www.robertrandolphfoundation.org

On Saturday, June 19th, Robert brought together some of the world's biggest musical artists to celebrate Juneteenth and pay tribute to the history, struggles, and accomplishments of Black culture in America. Hosted by JB Smoove and Amanda Seales and featuring performances by Earth Wind & Fire, Nile Rogers, Dave Matthews, and many others, the event brought together people of all backgrounds in a day of unity to commemorate and celebrate Juneteenth and Black culture with musical performances, appearances by civic leaders and influencers, inspiring remarks, films, comedy, and storytelling. The event also served as a launching pad for a coalition of grassroots organizations that are working to make a difference in the Black community, including Robert's Create Your Future Program. This new initiative (launching in Newark, NJ this summer/fall) will support underprivileged youth in exploring high-demand, high-salary career paths through simulated work environments with local professionals, equipping them with practical, hands-on skills and introducing them to local business owners.
