Pop Punk Band
Call it the glory years, call it the Warped Tour years, call it the MySpace years. Whatever you call the mid 00s pop-punk scene, there's no disputing Amber Pacific became synonymous with one of alternative rock's most influential times. Having sold over 200,000 albums globally, picking up 10s of millions of streams in the process, Amber Pacific became a household name with their emotive and moreish pop-punk style.
The band's much lauded debut full-length dropped in 2005 on Hopeless Records, with The Possibility & The Promise setting Amber Pacific on a trajectory that took them from MySpace darlings to one of the scene's leading lights.
Including hit singles "Gone So Young" & "Always You (Good Times)" the LP united the emo-laced melodies and enticing pop hooks that defined a generation. In the process, Amber Pacific would put themselves into the mix with the swathe of the genre's most talked about bands alongside the likes of The Academy is..., Hit The Lights and Yellowcard.
Their 2007 follow up Truth in Sincerity hit #64 on the Billboard 200, cementing the Pacific Northwest quintet's status as a bonafide player, during what many consider to be the genre's headiest time.
The band would become mainstays on the Vans Warped Tour. Throw into the mix heavy MTV coverage, a viral MySpace following and a spot on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soundtrack and it's no surprise the rockers broke into the hearts and minds of the mainstream,
Fast forward to 2024 and have enjoyed a triumphant return, with September's buoyant comeback single "Young & Reckless" marking the quintet's first new music in three years.
Their strident return continues on "Sink or Swim", an urgent and pacey offering awash with energy and anticipation. The vibrant singalongs and heart-on-sleeve lyricism are still front and center, but Amber Pacific sound reinvigorated with their new material.
Both tracks will take their place on upcoming album, All In, set for release February 14th, 2025.
